I’m a language instructor with more than 30 years of experience teaching French to adult learners. I believe learning works best when clear structure and purposeful progression are combined with the flexibility to respond to each student’s goals, strengths, and challenges.
I help students develop their ability to communicate, explore new ideas, and connect with language in meaningful ways. My lessons combine clarity, creativity, and rigor, with the support and challenge adapted to the needs of each learner.
Languages have always fascinated me, not just as systems of grammar and vocabulary, but as living tools for connection, storytelling, and understanding the world. Teaching French has given me the privilege of helping students discover that same excitement, whether they are encountering the language for the first time, returning to it after years away, or working toward more complex and independent communication.
I’ve learned that every student brings something different to the learning process. Some need more time and support with a particular skill; others are ready to move ahead quickly or want to explore specific topics and goals. A strong curriculum provides direction, but good teaching also means knowing when to slow down, when to challenge, when to revisit something, and when to follow an unexpected conversation somewhere worthwhile.
For me, teaching is about more than delivering content. It’s about creating moments where language comes alive: when a student understands something that once seemed inaccessible, finds a way to express an idea they couldn’t express before, discovers a new perspective, or realizes how much more they can now do in French. Those moments are what make my work rewarding.
