Les Tilleuls — Une aventure en français
Learn French through Les Tilleuls, an ongoing story set in France and centered on the people, conversations, and situations that bring a community to life. Each new scene introduces useful language in context as you follow Camille, her neighbors, and the other people she meets along the way.
You’ll first learn to understand the language you encounter, then practice using it with increasing independence. As the story progresses, so does your ability to communicate—giving you the foundation you need to understand, respond, and take part in real interactions in French.

How it works
Each scene in Les Tilleuls gives you a new context for understanding and using French. You’ll encounter conversations and situations through the story, explore the language people use to communicate, and then practice using it yourself.
Activities gradually move from understanding and guided practice toward more independent communication. Along the way, new language builds on what you have already learned, so you continue expanding what you can understand, say, and do in French.

You’ll begin with simple interactions and gradually learn to communicate in a wider range of situations. As your French develops, you’ll be able to:
introduce yourself and exchange information with others
ask and answer questions to keep an interaction going
talk about people, places, activities, and experiences
express your needs, preferences, opinions, and reactions
understand and participate in increasingly varied conversations
handle common situations you may encounter while living, traveling, or interacting with French speakers
The goal is not simply to learn more French, but to become increasingly able to use what you know to communicate.

The Foundation Program is a good fit if you:
are starting French from scratch
have studied some French before but still struggle to use what you know
have gaps in your foundation and want to build your skills more systematically
want to learn and practice French through meaningful situations and interactions
want a structured path toward becoming a more independent communicator
You don’t need any previous knowledge of French to begin. If you already know some French, we’ll determine during your consultation where you are starting from and how the program can best support your progress.

Les Tilleuls provides a clear path through the language, with each new scene and skill building on what came before. But every learner brings different knowledge, strengths, and challenges to the course.
Your lessons can adapt to what you need along the way. We can spend more time on something that needs additional practice, move more quickly through what you already understand, revisit earlier language when needed, or provide more support as you work toward using French independently.
The structure gives you a clear direction, while the flexibility allows you to progress at a pace that works for you.

As you progress through the Foundation Program, you’ll become increasingly comfortable understanding and using French in a wider range of situations. The skills and language you develop continue to build on one another, allowing you to communicate with greater independence.
When you have developed a solid foundation, you’ll be ready to move into the Conversation Program, where you can build on what you already know and develop your ability to communicate in greater depth.
